Sunflower Youth is the newest youth development club in KC offering professional coaching for your young soccer star!

Based out of Eastern Jackson County, with practices held in Blue Springs, MO and games in the greater Kansas City area.

What Does It Cost?



Yearly Registration Fee: $100

Jersey Fee: $75

League Fee: $65

Monthly Coaching and Club Fee: $85 (3 months)

Fall Total: $495


Monthly Coaching and Club Fee: $85 (3 months)

League Fee: $65

Spring Total: $320


Winter seasons will be determined during fall season with each individual team preferences

Each season includes 2 nights of training weekly

We know that tryouts can be a stressful time for parents and players. We want to take the stress out of the tryout process. Everyone is welcome at Sunflower and as long as we have enough kids per age group, there will be a spot on a team for every player that wants to play for Sunflower.

Time: Players born 2011 & 2012 - 6:00-7:00PM

        Players born 2016 & 2017 -- 6:00-7:00PM

        Players born 2013,2014,2015 -- 7:00-8:00PM

Nick McDonald

Sunflower State FC Youth Club is led by current Kansas City Comets professional soccer player Nick McDonald. Nick is going on his fourth year as a Comets player. He is also going on his third year as the head coach of the Sunflower State FC semi-professional men's team.

Previously, Nick spent five years as an assistant coach at Rockhurst University. As an assistant, Rockhurst University made it to three straight NCAA tournament Final Fours. 

Nick has coached youth soccer for upwards of ten years with various clubs in the Kansas City area. Many of his players have gone on to play in college, professionally and even for their respective national teams.
